How To Start Teaching Your Kids To Meditate

Meditation could be considered your brain's scheduled maintenance. It's not just for adults, either. Childhood is a good time to start learning how to meditate, a practice that might help kids deal with troubles throughout life. While we've previously shown how to get started meditating, with younger kids it's probably best to start small and simple. (It's hard enough for adults to sit still for five minutes.) The video above by author Gabrielle Bernstein explains two basic things you can teach kids: a simple mantra ("Peace begins with me") with mudra (hand gestures) and deep breathing. Simple, yet possibly life changing.
