Dealing with Relationship Regrets

There are some relationships that haunt us for life.

These are the ones that have hurt us, shook us to the core, and questioned our ideas of a relationship. In some cases, people are left dealing with the repercussions of a broken relationship for life. It is from these broken relationships that regrets arise. 1. Accept what is the cause of your regret

What do you regret? Breaking up with the person; not telling them how much you really love them before you'll parted ways; not spending enough time with the person you love. Whatever be the cause, it is time to realise and accept it. Once you accept what is troubling you, the healing process gets simpler.

2. See what you could have done or not

Once you know the cause of the regret, evaluate what you could have done or not. Many a time we think we could have done a lot more, but then reality suggests that actually doing so would not have been possible. Therefore, it is important to realistically evaluate the situation and see what was in your hands and what wasn't.

3. Seek grace

Once you have embraced reality and made rational sense of the situation, it is time to seek grace. Pray, meditate, heal. Accept there is a higher power and seek solace. Ask for forgiveness and the strength to face the situation as it is. Through this you can get stronger.

4. Move on

Once you are on the path of healing and making peace with your regrets, you need to make an attempt to move on. Accept that you cannot change your past, and that you have no option but to live with it. Just like you cannot erase the good, you cannot erase the bad. So accept it and move on.
