KEEP HEART PURE
Ravi was a little boy, whose parents loved him deeply. They were determined to bring him up to a good boy, of whom they would be proud.
“You mustn’t ever tell lies,” his father would say to him repeatedly. “Remember, God loves truth!”
Ravi was very much impressed. He promised his father that he would try very hard never utter a lie.
One day a visitor came to Ravi’s house. Little Ravi was playing in the garden.
“Is your father at home?” enquired his visitor. “If he is, please tell him that his bank manager is here to see him.”
“Kindly be seated, Sir,” Ravi said politely. “I shall go in and see if my father is at home.”
He ran inside the house and found his father relaxing in the bedroom.
“Daddy, your bank manager is here to see you,” the little boy said to him. “I have asked him to be seated and came to look for you.”
Ravi’s father had an overdraft at the bank, and did not want to meet the manager.
Lowering his voice, he said to Ravi, “Go and tell the visitor that daddy is not at home.”
Now Ravi had promised his father that he would not utter lies. Here was his father asking him just to do that! What could the little boy do?
Now the little tender mind confused that his dad wants him to practice truth, but asked him to tell a lie, “What should I do now?” (Read the message in picture)
He returned to the visitor and said to him, “Sir, my daddy wants me to tell you that he is not at home!”
