A little boy left a brief note on his mother’s bed. In it, he had listed all the chores he had completed that day. The note ran thus:

For cleaning the table - $ 2
For running the errands - $ 4

The mother pinned a ten-dollar note to the “bill”. She attached her own response, along with the payment.
